Ally LaVerdiere

Occupational Therapist - Thrive Rehab

Professional Bio

Ally LaVerdiere (she/her) is an Occupational Therapist who has spent the last 7 years of her career supporting neurodivergent individuals across the lifespan in schools, hospitals, aged care facilities, camps, and community-based settings in both Australia and the United States. Before becoming an Occupational Therapist, Ally was a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) in the United States. Ally's passion for empowering folks with intellectual disabilities to access accurate, non-judgmental, and expansive sexuality education stems from an intersectional passion for empowerment, advocacy, eliminating taboo, breaking down barriers, and believing that it should never be "too hard" to support someone to live the life they want and deserve. Ally currently works as an Occupational Therapist at Thrive Rehab in Naarm/Melbourne. Occupational Therapists at Thrive Rehab practice through the lens of sexuality being a core aspect of the human experience and aim to enable improved health outcomes by facilitating sex-positive clinical practice, professional development opportunities, and interdisciplinary consultation.
