Melanie is a Developmental Educator who has supported people with intellectual disabilities in a variety of roles over some 25 years. Melanie focusses on positive change for people with a disability and empowering them to have greater choices and control to live lives of pleasure that are enriched with relationships. She has worked in residential, day services, emergency after hours respite, employment and case management. Her primary passion is providing sexuality and relationship education to individuals, and their supports. Mel is an advocate for preventing violence against women and girls and recently received the Women with Disabilities Victoria, Brenda Gabe Leadership Award for her work. Melanie holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Intellectual Disability), ac certificate IV in workplace training and assessment and is a Specialist Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner.
