About Disability Advocacy Network Australia (DANA)
Disability Advocacy Network Australia (DANA) is the national peak body representing independent disability advocacy across Australia. DANA is dedicated to advancing the rights of people with disability by supporting and empowering a network of independent advocacy organisations who work directly with individuals to ensure they have a voice in decisions that affect their lives.
As part of our commitment to enhancing the disability advocacy sector, DANA plays a pivotal role in delivering key initiatives, including the National Centre for Disability Advocacy (NCDA) and the National Coordination Framework (NCF). The NCDA is focused on strengthening the capacity of disability advocates by providing training, resources, and support nationwide. The NCF, funded by the government, is designed to coordinate and align the work of the Disability Representative Organisations, facilitating collaboration and best practices in advocacy efforts.
Through these initiatives, DANA continues to lead and support the disability advocacy sector, to promote the human rights, needs, value and diversity of people with disability.
